Cruisin’ Destination Daytona Goes Off In Between Rain Showers

The January edition of Cruisin’ Destination Daytona came close to being the first rain out since the event's inception nearly two years ago. With rain in and around central Florida all day long the outlook was gloomy. But the skies cleared, the sun came out, and a number of Cruisin’ Destination Daytona diehards made the trek, had some fun, and left as the next wave of showers hit.

The weather forecast (80 % chance of rain) kept the car count down, as well as the spectator crowd. But, for those who braved the weather a good time was had, as always.

The theme for the January Cruisin’ Destination Daytona was Mighty Muscle and a number of muscle cars were on hand. Dennis and Joan Souza picked up the "Best Hardtop Muscle Car" with their 426 Hemi powered 1969 "Cuda", while Jesse and Monica Wright tooled down from Jacksonville, FL in their beautiful red and black, 540 cubic inch, blown, ’67 Chevy Nova and copped the coveted Shops of Destination Daytona, "Merchants Choice" award for the best over all Muscle Car. The Souza’s and the Wright’s also received $100 gift certificates from YearOne, the nations leading supplier of muscle car and restoration parts.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 16 and plan to attend the next edition of Cruisin’ Destination Daytona. Bring your car, bring your family, bring your friends, its always a good time and it’s always free.

Mickey Lauria, of Total Performance, presents Dennis and Joan Souza a trophy and a $100 gift certificate from YearOne as the winners of "The Best Muscle Car Hardtop". It was Mighty Muscle" night at Cruisin’ Destination Daytona and the Souza’s, ground pounding, 426 Hemi powered, 1969 Plymouth ‘Cuda’ got everyone’s attention.
Stuff 540 cubic inches of blown Chevy big block into a beautiful, black and red, 1967 Chevy Nova and you have a good shot at picking up the coveted Shops of Destination Daytona "Merchant’s Pick" award for the best overall muscle car. Jesse and Monica Wright took the trophy and the $100 YearOne gift certificate back to Jacksonville, Fl.
Pete ‘The Greek" Vanvourellis just finished this interesting ’32 Ford three window. If it looks different to you, maybe the ’34 Ford fender package has something to do with it.
Norm and Belinda Buck cruised down from Flagler Beach, Fl in their beautiful ’39 Ford ‘Standard’ Coupe.
Diane and Les Senica cruise South Daytona Beach, Fl in style in their street rodded, ’35 Buick four door sedan.
This channeled. no bones, in the dirt,’29 Model A pickup is the handy work of Gregg Pellicer, of Daytona Beach.
