| Threatening
Skies can't stop the Cruisin' Destination Daytona Crowd |
Threatening skies in and around
Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona did little to dampen
the September Cruisin' Destination Daytona party. Owners from
Jacksonville, Gainesville, and as far away as West Palm Beach,
joined the many local car enthusiasts and a host of spectators
to party at what has become one of the premiere monthly cruise
events in the country.
Trucks were the featured vehicles for the September cruise.
Hot Rod Trucks, Custom Trucks, truck, trucks and more trucks.
More than twenty-five trucks were on hand and picking winners
is always a task, but the Destination Daytona Merchants
chose Wayne Appel's 1947 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery, down
from Wallingford, CT, for the coveted "Merchants Pick"
award. Bob Demers copped the "Best Early Truck"
with his beautiful, 1957 Chevrolet, Cameo, from Ponce Inlet,
FL, while Tom Thompson's black and orange, 2001 Chevy S-10
hauled the "Best Late Model Truck" trophy back
to Jacksonville, FL. Diamond Back Radial Tires proudly sponsors
the monthly awards.
YearOne, a leading manufacturer of reproduction muscle
cars and muscle car parts, once again gave away two $100.00
gift certificates to lucky door prize winners. While Diamond
Back Radial tire, a manufacturer of high quality custom
designed radial tires, also gave away two $100.00 gift certificates.
Total Performance, a major sponsor of Cruisin' Destination
Daytona, the Destination Daytona Merchants, Bitchin' Products,
and others added to the huge door prize cache. The Trike
Shop, at Destination Daytona, gave away a $50.00 cash award.
The 'split the pot', produced $120.00 for the Flagler Humane
society and a lucky ticket holder.
For the past several months Raffle Tickets have been sold
on a 1932 Ford Pedal Car, from Classic Automobilia and the
Total Performance Store. Reproduction pedal cars are a popular
gift for children and grandchildren as well as decor for
the garage or den. The winning ticket was drawn at the September
Cruisin' Destination Daytona event and the winner was Ed
Martin, an over the road truck driver from Neenah, WI. He
and his wife had purchased tickets while stopping at the
nearby Love's truck stop several months ago.
Since the "Biketoberfest" motorcycle party will
be invading Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona the third
week in October there will be no Cruisin' Destination Daytona
in October. But the party will be back as big as ever the
third Saturday in November (November 17th), the weekend
before the annual Daytona Beach Turkey Run.

The traditional looking rod features a nontraditional independent
front suspension and five spoke mags.

| Carmen Sizemore came up from
Edgewater, FL to join the Cruisin' Destination Daytona party.
Carmen's beautiful red '34 Ford, 3 window coupe has that traditional
look, with bumpers, door handles, and rubber 'boards'. |

Chet Tibbils bought this Corvette
new and has owned it ever since. The car has gone through
numerous iterations over the years, with Chet and his wife
Joanne doing most of the work. After 397,450 miles Chet's
Corvette just keeps on rolling, mostly around Chet and Joanne's
hometown of Port Orange, FL. |

Frank Roberts stands proudly
by his, jaw dropping, 1955 Ford Pick Up. Frank is one of several
DJs that spin the oldies at Cruisin' Destination Daytona. |

No information on this nice,
red, Ford, 'Big Window' truck. We guess the owner was off
having fun at Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona. |
|
This Wimbledon White, Ford
Fairlane 500 was one nice car. Power comes from a tricked
out 302, with 351 heads - a four speed makes it even more
fun. |

This fine Orange and Black
S10 belongs to Tom Thompson out of Jacksonville, FL. Tom picked
up the "Best Late Model Truck" award. |

The "Best Early Truck"
award went to Bob Demers and his beautiful back and red 1957
Chevrolet Cameo. Bob hails from Ponce Inlet, FL. |

Deede Vanvourellis wheeled
in from Port Orange, FL. in her, "blown' small block
powered, '32 Ford pick up. Deede is a small lady with a heavy
right foot. |

Blown '32 Fords, chopped '50
Mercs, and everything in between. Restaurants, food court,
pubs, and the World's Largest Harley-Davidson dealership,
Cruisin' Destination Daytona has it all. |

WE TOP THE AUGUST CRUISIN’ DESTINATION DAYTONA ? |
Hey, if you missed the August Cruisin’ Destination
Daytona , you missed what was probably the biggest turnout
ever. If you were there you know the story. We have requested
an additional 250 parking spaces be reserved for cruisers
and we have requested that the lights be turned on at 8
PM so we can party until we decide to leave.
The featured vehicle for the September CDD is the “Truck”
- old trucks, new trucks, custom trucks, hot rod trucks
-all types of trucks. Awards will be given to "The
Best Early Model Truck", "The Best Late Model

parking for the trucks will be at the North end of the parking
lot adjacent to the retail stores and Houligan’s Sports
Grille.
We always have an abundance of door prizes from the Destination

from YearOne. Total Performance will give away a number
of $25.00 gift certificates, Doc’s Rod & Kustom

| The
Total Performance Florida Stores Carry Much More Than What
Is Shown In Our Catalogs?
|
| For over the
last year, Florida Street Rodders have been enjoying the convenience
of having not only one, but two Total Performance retail locations
in there area. What many may not know is the convenience of
these stores has also allowed us to offer products that we
have not been able to in the past. Below is just a very small
example of some of the items available at our Total Performance
Florida store locations. For more information, call our Bunnell
store at 386-437-9996 or our Ormond Beach store at 386-671-6415.
A web site is also in the works specifically for these stores
as well. |
